Training and qualifications

Ashley qualified from Bristol in 2003. He completed vocational training in the Royal Army Dental Corps where he served for 20 years, treating servicemen and their families in the UK, Germany, Cyprus and Iraq. He was seconded for two years to train Royal Brunei armed forces dental officers.

Sharmila completed her postgraduate studies at Nair Hospital Dental College, in India, with a merit certificate. Sharmila has experience in periodontal plastic procedures including soft and hard tissue surgeries, correction of gummy smiles, treating depigmentation on gums and non-surgical management of patients with medical conditions.

She has presented regionally, nationally and internationally on a range of periodontal therapy related topics and has published papers in several peer reviewed dental journals. She is actively involved in various research projects having many research articles to her credit. She has also written a book around periodontal tissue healing.

Sharmila is also works at another dental practice in London as a consultant periodontist.

Suganthy graduated from the University of Sheffield in 1993 and her early career was spent in North America, before moving back to England 15 years ago. As a clinician with a keen interest in aesthetic dentistry and restorative implants, Suganthy is always eager to expand on skills and experience and recently completed a one-year restorative programme with plans to do more in the future.

She served in the RAF for seven years, first at RAF Cranwell before moving to other stations throughout the UK. She qualified as a dental nurse during this time, before qualifying as a dental hygienist in 1995.

After completing her time in the RAF, Karen moved into general dental practice in Plymouth, where she developed the skills required to treat a variety of periodontal issues. She joined the practice in 2019.
