Ruairi Cunnane

Ruari started out as a biochemist before switching to dentistry, and now has an interest in implants and sedation.

After graduating in Biochemistry from University College Dublin, Ruairi went on to study dentistry at Peninsula College of Medicine and Dentistry.

He has worked in general practice in Devon and as a senior house officer in oral and maxillofacial surgery at the Royal Devon & Exeter NHS Foundation Trust.

Ruairi’s particular interest is in implant dentistry. He is committed to gentle dentistry and has experience treating very anxious patients with sedation. He completed a diploma in conscious sedation in 2015 at Newcastle University, achieving the gold standard for education and training in conscious sedation in the UK.

He has recently achieved a master’s degree in Dental Implantology from the University of Bristol (with distinction).

Ruairi is a member of the International Team of Implantology and the Association of Dental Implantology, and regularly attends implant conferences. He is a member of the British Dental Association, the Association of Dental Implantology, the Society for the Advancement of Anaesthesia in Dentistry and the Joint Dental Faculties at The Royal College of Surgeons of England.

Since graduating, Ruairi has maintained strong links with Peninsula Dental School and currently works there as a clinical supervisor.
