After qualifying at Queen’s University Belfast in 1994, Simon worked in general dentistry from 1995 to 2002. He then lectured at Queen's University Belfast for two years before undertaking higher specialist training in restorative dentistry for five years. He completed his PhD in 2007.
He is a consultant in restorative dentistry at the Belfast Health and Social Care Trust and has worked part-time in the Fortwilliam Clinic here in Belfast since 2013, offering the full range of restorative dentistry services.
