Mark accepts referrals for oral surgery under local anaesthetic, including complex extractions, third molar removal, root removal and surgical endodontics.

Mark is a dentist who focusses on providing oral and maxillofacial surgery at our practice.

Mark has worked in the Aberdeen Royal Infirmary for the best part of 25 years, providing a comprehensive oral surgery service across North East Scotland. He undertakes a whole range of dentoalveolar surgery treatments under local anaesthetic and intravenous sedation. This includes complex extractions, removal of buried roots, third molars and surgical endodontics. He has also provided a comprehensive paediatric oral surgery service for the past 20 years.

Mark has a long history of teaching within the hospital. He was instrumental in developing the programme that teaches dental nurses through to their national examination. He now works for NEBDN (National Examining Board For Dental Nurses) as the chair of the implant committee and has developed a post-registration qualification for dental nurses in implant dentistry.

Recently appointed as educational supervisor for dental core trainees, Mark continues to develop his role of teaching aspiring dentists, with a focus on minor oral surgery skills.

Mark has developed an interest in medication-related osteonecrosis and is involved in a collaborative effort to find methods to treat this difficult condition.

Mark welcomes referrals for oral surgery, including complex or potentially difficult extractions, third molar removal, root removal and surgical endodontics.
