Shahab welcomes referrals in complex endodontics and severe tooth wear, including occlusal wear.

Alongside practising at Queens Cross Dental, Shahab is a dentist in the restorative dentistry department at the Aberdeen Dental School and Hospital. He previously worked as a senior house officer between 2004 and 2007.

Shahab provides patient care in the fields of fixed and removable prosthodontics, periodontics, endodontics and dental implants. He also provides an endodontic service at the hospital which offers re-root treatments, post-removal perforation repair, negotiating sclerosed canals, apexification procedures and root end surgeries.

He has active interests in endodontics, prosthodontics, dental implants and full-mouth rehabilitation including restoring severe tooth wear/tooth surface loss cases and complex denture cases including overdentures. Shahab is also experienced in both Straumann and Nobel Biocare systems.

Shahab gained his MSc in Restorative Dentistry from the University of Newcastle in 2004, and then earned his Membership of the Faculty of Dental Surgery (MFDS RCS Ed) from the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh. During his MSc, his research in endodontics, looking at various irrigants in immature teeth, was published in an international peer-reviewed journal. He trained under Dr John Whitworth, who taught him rotary instruments and the importance of using magnification. Now he carries out all his endodontic work using a microscope.

Shahab is a member of the British Society of Prosthodontics, British Society of Periodontology and International Team of Implantology.
