Training and qualifications
Alistair qualified from King’s College London in 1999 and began his career with a short service commission as a military dentist. This early experience provided extensive exposure to a broad range of clinical scenarios, often in demanding environments, and helped Alistair to develop strong decision-making skills, adaptability and a calm, structured approach to complex treatment planning.
He went on to complete an MSc in Restorative Dentistry at the prestigious Eastman Dental Institute (UCL), graduating with Distinction. Further advancing his implant expertise, Alistair obtained the Diploma in Implant Dentistry from the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh. His postgraduate training also includes additional implant education at the University of Bern and Harvard School of Dental Medicine in Boston, reflecting his commitment to learning from internationally recognised centres of excellence.
Treatments offered
Alistair routinely manages complex cases involving tooth wear, failing dentitions, advanced restorative rehabilitation and implant reconstruction. He provides both fixed and removable implant-supported solutions, carefully tailored to each patient’s functional and aesthetic needs.
In addition to clinical practice, he now serves as an examiner for the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh, contributing to postgraduate assessment and maintaining high professional standards within the profession.
Alistair’s diverse training background, spanning military service, leading UK institutions and internationally respected implant centres, allows him to bring a breadth of experience to multidisciplinary teamwork. He works closely with colleagues across specialties, fostering collaborative treatment planning and ensuring patients benefit from comprehensive, well-coordinated care.
Alistair remains committed to ongoing professional development and delivering evidence-based and patient centred dentistry of the highest standard.
