Benedict 'Ben' Davies

Ben is a Specialist in Oral Surgery with particular interest in advanced dental implant surgery and complex wisdom tooth removal.

Ben qualified from the University of Sheffield in 1999 and spent his early career as an army dental officer. He achieved his initial membership of the Royal College of Surgeons in 2005 (MFGDP UK).

He then spent a year as a senior house officer post in oral surgery at Queen Alexandra Hospital. After completing this, he went on to finish three years of training as a specialist registrar in oral surgery in Portsmouth.

Ben completed further training in 2008 which gained him the  Speciality Diploma of Membership in Surgical Dentistry (MSurgDent) of the Royal College of Surgeons of England. In the same year he was awarded a master’s degree with distinction in healthcare management.

In 2015, Ben was awarded the Fellowship in Dental Surgery from the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh and more recently in 2018, he was awarded a postgraduate certificate in medical education to support his role as a trainer of future specialists in oral surgery.

Ben has a keen interest in and is experienced in dental implant surgery and minimally traumatic wisdom tooth surgery. Ben's continuing professional development remains very active, with him attending courses and conferences regularly both in the UK and internationally. Recent highlights for him were his experiences of teaching in advanced implant dentistry to experts at the University of Bern in Switzerland and Harvard University in the USA.

Ben has a wealth of experience in helping people who are anxious of dental treatment and can provide dental sedation. He shares his skills as an oral surgeon through involvement in the teaching of oral surgery to other dentists. He is a member of the Association of Dental Implantology, the British Dental Association and the British Association of Oral Surgeons.
