Stephen Taylor is one of our specialists in oral surgery and has extensive experience fitting implants and performing bone grafting procedures.

Stephen qualified from Guy's Hospital Dental School in 1976 and, while still a student, was commissioned by the Royal Navy. On qualifying, he remained at Guy's Hospital for six months, undertaking a house officer position in oral surgery.

The next 18 years were spent in the Royal Naval Dental Service which saw appointments at all three naval hospitals, namely Plymouth, Haslar (Gosport) and Gibraltar. In 1987, he returned to Guy's Hospital to study a master’s degree in oral and maxillofacial surgery and graduated with distinction in October 1988.

In 1995, on leaving the Royal Navy, he began working for the NHS and was appointed to the maxillofacial unit at Queen Alexandra Hospital, Portsmouth.

In addition to undergraduate and postgraduate degrees, Stephen is also a fellow in dental surgery at the Royal College of Surgeons in Edinburgh and holds a membership in surgical dentistry.

He has 25 years’ experience in implant surgery, bone grafting and allied topics which involve surgical aspects of dentistry. Stephen is currently an examiner and member of the Advisory Board in Implant Dentistry at the Royal College of Surgeons Edinburgh.
