Prior to becoming a dentist, Alana achieved an honours degree in Human Biology and Anatomy from Manchester University and spent a year working as a research scientist in the pharmaceutical industry.

It was following orthodontic treatment (fixed braces) that Alana decided to retrain as a dentist, after experiencing first-hand the impact a smile has on an individual's happiness and self-esteem. She has been working in general practice since 2013 and joined Bupa Dental Care in 2019. She has a strong focus on prevention, and endeavours to use techniques that preserve as much of the natural tooth as possible. Alana enjoys providing care for the whole family and finds working with anxious patients particularly rewarding. In addition to routine dentistry, she provides a number of cosmetic treatments including composite white fillings/bonding, tooth whitening and veneers.
