After qualifying from the University of Birmingham with honours and distinction, and before joining the Tutbury practice, Adam worked within the maxillofacial department at Royal Derby Hospital and in general practice in Wolverhampton.

Adam is originally from the Staffordshire Moorlands, and holds a Diploma of Membership of the Faculty of Dental Surgery (MFDS) of The Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh.

After qualifying from Newcastle University with honours and distinction, Gillian practised in Belper before joining the Tutbury practice in 1990. Gillian has since been instrumental in developing it from a single-handed practice to its current six surgeries.

Gillian has undertaken a variety of further training. She completed the advanced restorative course with Paul Tipton in Manchester in 1997. And in 1999, she obtained a Fellowship of the Faculty of General Dental Practice of the Royal College of Surgeons of England. Gillian is one of only a few UK dentists to have trained at The Dawson Academy studying the management of tooth wear, uncomfortable bites and clicking joints.

Gillian is an experienced provider of adult orthodontics using Six month Smiles, a procedure that enables her to straighten and align teeth. She is also a member of the British Academy for Cosmetic Dentistry, with a special interest in facial aesthetics. Alongside general dentistry and the treatment of children she has a special interest in smile design and facial makeovers.

Gillian is committed to preventing dental disease and helping her patients achieve, and thereafter maintain, dental health for life.

Pam provides general dental care for the whole family, offering advice on prevention of dental disease, treatment with restorations such as fillings, crowns and bridges through to denture provision. She also offers a range of aesthetic treatments including teeth whitening, orthodontic treatment using clear aligners and veneers to improve and rejuvenate smiles.

Pam is enthusiastic about her continued professional development and completed Paul Tipton’s advanced restorative course in 2007 and studied teeth whitening in 2008, and in 2013, participated in a smile design course, undertaking a smile makeover using crowns and veneers to transform a smile. She has an interest in minimal intervention in dental care. In 2014, Pam attended a course in Belgium to learn how to use minimally invasive tooth-coloured fillings in an advanced way to give great aesthetic results. Pam has also undergone training in the use of dental lasers, which have multiple applications for enhancing outcomes in various treatments including crown and veneer work and periodontal (gum) treatment.

No, orthodontics for adults is becoming more and more common. We can talk through your options with you.

We do understand that some people really struggle with dental treatment. But we have lots of ways to help put you at ease. Please just tell us how you feel and what worries you, and then we can work together to decide on the right approach.

Generally we recommend twice yearly check-ups every six months. However, this varies on a case by case basis. Your Bupa Dental Care dentist will talk to you about when and how often we need to see you.

Fillings repair small holes in your tooth enamel. If they aren’t filled, the decay will deepen. You’ll start to feel pain, and you could end up needing root canal treatment, which is much more significant and costs more. So although you might not feel pain right now, it’s best to repair these holes as soon as possible.
