Our practice teams spend time making sure that patients feel comfortable and relaxed, helping to reduce feelings of dental anxiety that impact many young patients.
Because children’s and teens’ oral health needs change as they grow, we offer two separate plans to best suit your child’s requirements.
- First Plan - for patients aged 0-5 years
- Youth Plan - for patients aged 6-17 years
How much will a plan cost?
The monthly cost of your child’s plan will depend on their age and whether they are a new or existing patient2. The table below outlines plan inclusions and monthly costs:

Both plans include regular routine check-ups with a clinician and allow you to spread the cost of routine dental care with monthly bite-sized payments.
The plans come with age-appropriate treatment options and dental health advice, tailored to your child’s specific needs and requirements.
How do I pay?
Your child’s plan is covered by 12 fixed price monthly payments, collected by direct debit.
Registration fee
You’ll need to pay a small, one-off set-up fee of £10, which will be taken around the time of your first monthly payment for your child’s plan.

Do I need to be a patient at the practice to sign my child up to Bupa Smile Plan?
No, parents / grandparents / carers can sign up for a child / children even if they themselves are not a patient at the practice.

Bupa Smile Plan for Under 18s is quick and easy to set up on the phone or in person at a practice. Many of our practices also offer online booking, making it simpler than ever to get the appointments you need.

11 The cost of a Braeburn apple as part of a multipack in Tesco is 34p. A ‘youth new patient’ plan is £8.99 per month, which equates to 29p per day. Prices correct at 23 May 2025, Tesco Braeburn 5 pack £1.70.
2New patient plans will include one new patient exam and one check-up in the first year. A new patient exam is a slightly longer appointment than a regular check-up, allowing the dentist to assess a patient’s oral health thoroughly. After the first year, all new patient plans convert to an existing patient plan which includes two check-up appointments.
3Inclusions/exclusions: The 10% discount applies to the following treatments only: Additional X-rays (in your child’s dental practice), fillings, gum disease treatment (non-surgical), tooth extractions (non-surgical), dentures, bridges, crowns, emergency consultation, oral hygiene and disease prevention, additional fissure sealants, mouth guards and gumshields. All other treatments are excluded.
