Our business health insurance is here for your team

We’ve got the most extensive mental health cover on the market

Mental health is just as important as physical health for all-round performance. Our health insurance gives your employees access to the most comprehensive mental health cover in the market, including addictions. So we’ve got your team covered from top to toe.

As of February 2022, this comparison to other products in the market is based on Bupa’s and Defaqto’s interpretation of the differences between Bupa’s SME Select and Corporate Select health insurance products and other health insurance products offering mental health cover. The comparison excludes any special offers or promotions which may temporarily alter the cover offered. Cover comparison information is for personal use and guidance only and does not constitute any contractual representation, warranty or obligation by either Bupa or Defaqto about the completeness, accuracy, reliability, suitability or availability of the comparison. Neither party accepts any liability for errors, omissions, direct or consequential loss in relation to this comparison.

To support addictions we fund one addiction treatment programme per membership lifetime.

Faster help with the things that matter.

We understand having symptoms of conditions such as cancer, mental health and muscle, bone and joint conditions can be stressful and time consuming for your employees. Which is why we want them to speak to us first, usually without the need to see a GP††. This improves speed of diagnosis to minimise worry and absence.

Our cancer promise is here for your people.

We know each team member is vital to your business and your success. So it’s reassuring to know our small business health insurance comes with a cancer promise that delivers more for you and your team should the worst happen. With no time limits on treatment and all eligible cancer drugs paid in full, plus access to our oncology support team, we’re there every step of the way‡‡.

24/7 GP appointments and health advice.

Taking time off work to see a GP can be worrying. With Digital GP provided by Babylon included as standard and our Anytime HealthLine advisers on call, seeking health advice and referral is fast and easy, 24/7, 365.

We’re here to provide guidance.

Busy businesses often don’t have enough time to provide health guidance, which is why we provide practical and useful health resources specifically designed for small businesses and their people. This includes a wellbeing hub, toolkits and the latest info and advice to keep your team in the very best physical and mental condition.

^Lines are open Monday to Friday 8.30am to 6pm. We may record or monitor calls.

‡‡With Bupa cancer cover there are no time limits. All eligible treatment costs and evidence-based breakthrough cancer drugs and treatments that your scheme covers are paid in full for as long as you have Bupa health cover. You must use a hospital or health centre from the Bupa network and a consultant that we recognise and charges within Bupa rates (a fee-assured consultant). Please check your certificate or guide to see which specific list of advanced therapies your employer has selected as it may not cover all advanced therapies.

†††Customers who live in the Isle of Man, or have a Bupa Standard, Bupa Premium or Bupa Your Choice policy, do not have access to Digital GP provided by Babylon, but can access GP24, provided by HealthHero.

††Direct Access telephone services are available as long as the symptoms are covered under the policy. If your cover excludes conditions you had before your policy started, we’ll ask you to provide evidence from your GP that your symptoms are not pre-existing for a period of up to two years from policy start date (or five years in the case of mental health) before we can refer you to a consultant or therapist through the Direct Access service. For rolling moratorium underwritten members we will ask for evidence each time you claim for a condition not claimed for before. Always call us first to check your eligibility.

  2. Subject to these terms and conditions, eligible clients will receive access to one free Bupa Be.Reassured Health Assessment (the “Health Assessment”) for each main member (“Members”) covered when purchasing a new Bupa Select Company PMI Policy (the “Select Policy”) for up to 10 members (the “Offer”). The Offer cannot be used against any other Bupa product or service. Bupa Health Assessments are provided by Bupa Occupational Health Limited.
  3. The Offer is available to UK registered small or medium sized corporate entities (including, for example, companies, partnerships, and associations) covering between 2 and 10 Members inclusive (“SMEs”) who purchase a new Select Policy directly from Bupa.
  4. The Offer is available to new or switching SME clients only and is not available for the following:
    •      a. SME clients who purchase their Select Policy to cover more than 10 Members; or
    •      b. SME clients who purchase their Select Policy through an intermediary; or
    •      c. existing Bupa clients who hold a policy for any Bupa product or service.
  5. Free Health Assessments must be booked on or before the date falling 3 months after the Select Policy start date (the “Booking Period”) and will be available during this period subject to the Select Policy being active.
  6. The Offer is only available for new or switching SME clients for whom a quote is provided for a Select Policy between 1 July 2022 and 29 July 2022 inclusive. Quotes are valid for 28 days and the Select Policy must have a start date between 1 July 2022 and 29 July 2022 inclusive. Bupa’s standard Terms of Business and Bupa Select Policy Terms & Conditions will apply.
  7. The Offer will not be applied in subsequent policy years and will not be available to Members who are added to the Select Policy after it has started. Members who are removed from the Select policy will no longer be eligible to claim a free Health Assessment. If you wish to continue to have access to Health Assessments for Members after the Booking Period, or if you wish to offer Health Assessments to new joiners after the Select Policy start date, you must request this and pay any applicable fees and charges.
  8. Health Assessments are carried out at Bupa Health Centres. Not all types of Health Assessments are available at each Bupa Health Centre. For details of our Health Assessments, see and for the locations of Bupa’s Health Centres, see

  10. A cancellation policy applies to all Health Assessments booked but not attended. Members can change or cancel their Health Assessment appointment up to 5 working days before their scheduled appointment. If the Member cancels with less than 5 working days’ notice, or does not attend the appointment, the Member will lose eligibility for the free Health Assessment.
  11. Bupa reserves the right to decline to offer a Select Policy in its absolute discretion, and Bupa’s decision regarding any aspect of this promotion is final.
  12. Bupa reserves the right to cancel, suspend, amend or withdraw the Offer at any point without prior notice.
  13. The Offer is non-exchangeable, non-transferable, has no cash value/alternative and cannot be used in conjunction with any other promotions or offers except for Bupa’s free 2-year fixed price offer (the “Fixed Price Offer”) which allows new SME clients to fix the price of the Select Policy for 2 years subject to separate terms and conditions. The Fixed Price Offer is not available for the following:
    •      a. SME clients who are switching from an alternative company health insurance provider; or
    •      b. SME clients who purchase their Select Policy through an intermediary; or
    •      c. existing Bupa clients who hold a policy for any Bupa product or service for the benefit of their employees.
  14. The Fixed Price Offer guarantees the price of the Select Policy for 2 years. However, this is not protected from any increases in Insurance Premium Tax (“IPT”) at the first renewal. Changes to Members on the Select Policy made during the 2-year fixed period may also affect the price at the first renewal, although the rate per member will remain fixed. Examples of changes to the Select Policy include (but are not limited to): adding or removing members from the Select Policy, complimentary babies becoming paid-for child dependants at the first renewal, and child-dependants reaching the age of 24 during the first fixed year who would then be required to pay the adult rate in the second fixed year.
  15. Please note, you may not be able to amend the benefit options of the Select Policy at your first renewal when choosing the Fixed Price Offer. Examples of benefit options include facility access, out-patient limits and levels of excess.
  16. When calculating renewal prices for a Select Policy after the Fixed Price Offer has ended, Bupa considers additional factors such as (but not limited to) claims history, age of members, the rising cost of healthcare and IPT, which will be factored into each year’s renewal subscription.
  17. Bupa will use any personal information in accordance with its privacy notice which can be found at
  18. To the fullest extent permitted by law, Bupa and its group companies shall not be liable to the SME client or any of its employees for any claims, damages or any other losses whatsoever under or in connection with the operation of the Offer.
  19. These terms & conditions shall be governed by English law and the parties submit to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
