Implant services in a unique setting
When you arrive at The Old Church Dental Practice, you’ll find a very warm welcome awaiting you.
From your first enquiry, your dedicated onsite treatment coordinator will take care of all your needs. They’ll be there from the start of your implant journey, to follow ups and aftercare. Plus, our skilled hygienists will be on hand to help with your oral health throughout your implant treatment.
Our dental implant services
Together, our dentists have more than 20 years’ experience placing dental implants. What we provide at our practice is a full suite of implant dentistry, including single, multiple and full mouth dental implants, as well as implant-supported dentures and bridges.
We also offer smile in a day treatment, where four to six dental implants are placed in one day, restoring multiple missing teeth. Get in touch to find out more.
Facilities at our practice
Technology is central to what we do at our practice. We use modern equipment including a 3D CBCT scanner and an iTero scanner, which help precisely plan implant treatment.
We know some people feel nervous before visiting the dentist, but we’ll do everything we can to ensure you have a calm, relaxing experience with us. If you’re very anxious, we can offer sedation to help you.
Our nine surgeries are situated in our uniquely impressive space at The Old Church Dental Practice, with its stained-glass windows and sweeping central staircase. All of these features add to the calming atmosphere you’ll find at The Old Church Dental Practice.

Implant procedure
Learn about the step-by-step treatment process for having dental implants, from your initial consultation right through to aftercare.
First, you’ll have a free* phone consultation with one of our dedicated treatment coordinators. We’ll talk you through your options, give you an indication of price and can book you in for an initial assessment with your implant dentist if you choose to go ahead.

Clinical assessment
Next, you’ll have a clinical assessment to make sure you’re eligible for treatment. Your dentist will take X-rays and decide exactly where your implants need to be placed. They’ll also talk you through the cost of treatment and let you know if you need a supporting treatment, such as a bone graft.

Placing your implants
This is where your dental implants are fixed into your jawbone. It’s a surgical procedure normally performed under local anaesthetic, so it’s relatively pain-free. If you feel nervous, your dentist may be able to offer sedation to put you at ease. Your bone and gums will need time to heal before attaching your replacement teeth, so we’ll fit you with some temporary teeth until you’re ready.

Fitting your replacement teeth
It’s normal to wait four to eight months for the implant to fully integrate with your jawbone, before your permanent, replacement teeth are fitted. They will be custom-made to fit the size, shape and colour of your existing teeth.

Aftercare
Keeping your implants clean and healthy is no more difficult than it is with your natural teeth. But if you find any areas tricky to reach, or if you come across any problems, we’re here to help. We’ll provide you with all the aftercare advice you need to have a successful implant.

Whitening can be an important part of a smile makeover. We always check the suitability of your teeth, as it may not be recommended for some patients with high sensitivity. It’s important to know that we may not be able to treat all of your teeth: whitening can’t alter the colour of fillings, crowns, veneers, for example. Your dentist can explain and suggest any options open to you.
We do understand that some people really struggle with dental treatment. But we have lots of ways to help put you at ease. Please just tell us how you feel and what worries you, and then we can work together to decide on the right approach.
Generally we recommend twice yearly check-ups every six months. However, this varies on a case by case basis. Your Bupa Dental Care dentist will talk to you about when and how often we need to see you.
