Bupa Dental Care Stafford
Dental implants in Stafford
Restoring smiles with dental implants
At our practice, we offer single implants, full-arch restorations and smile in a day treatment, replacing a full arch of missing teeth with dental implants in one day.
If you need a bone graft or sinus lift before you have your implants, we provide this at the practice. We also have an on-site CBCT scanner that we’ll use to check your suitability and determine where your implants should be placed.
Meet our implant dentist
Our implant dentist, Neil, has been placing implants since 1999. He has experience in both simple and complex cases, and also accepts referrals from other dentists in the area of implant treatment.
Implant services for nervous patients
We know that the thought of having an implant placed can be daunting. If you’re anxious, let us know and we’ll make you feel as comfortable as possible. If you’re extremely nervous, we offer IV sedation to help put you at ease during your treatment.
If you’d like to learn more about our services for nervous patients, just get in touch and our friendly team will be happy to talk you through your options.
A dedicated implant team
If you choose to have dental implants with us, you’ll have the support of our dedicated treatment coordinator who is available daily to offer you individual support and guidance.
You’ll also have regular appointments with our hygienists to help you care for your implants after they’ve been placed, and in the long-term. They can also help with any hygiene treatment you might need before you have the procedure.
Implant procedure
Learn about the step-by-step treatment process for having dental implants, from your initial consultation right through to aftercare.
First, you’ll have a free* phone consultation with one of our dedicated treatment coordinators. We’ll talk you through your options, give you an indication of price and can book you in for an initial assessment with your implant dentist if you choose to go ahead.
Clinical assessment
Next, you’ll have a clinical assessment to make sure you’re eligible for treatment. Your dentist will take X-rays and decide exactly where your implants need to be placed. They’ll also talk you through the cost of treatment and let you know if you need a supporting treatment, such as a bone graft.
Placing your implants
This is where your dental implants are fixed into your jawbone. It’s a surgical procedure normally performed under local anaesthetic, so it’s relatively pain-free. If you feel nervous, your dentist may be able to offer sedation to put you at ease. Your bone and gums will need time to heal before attaching your replacement teeth, so we’ll fit you with some temporary teeth until you’re ready.
Fitting your replacement teeth
It’s normal to wait four to eight months for the implant to fully integrate with your jawbone, before your permanent, replacement teeth are fitted. They will be custom-made to fit the size, shape and colour of your existing teeth.
Aftercare
Keeping your implants clean and healthy is no more difficult than it is with your natural teeth. But if you find any areas tricky to reach, or if you come across any problems, we’re here to help. We’ll provide you with all the aftercare advice you need to have a successful implant.
No, orthodontics for adults is becoming more and more common. We can talk through your options with you.
We do understand that some people really struggle with dental treatment. But we have lots of ways to help put you at ease. Please just tell us how you feel and what worries you, and then we can work together to decide on the right approach.
Generally we recommend twice yearly check-ups every six months. However, this varies on a case by case basis. Your Bupa Dental Care dentist will talk to you about when and how often we need to see you.
Fillings repair small holes in your tooth enamel. If they aren’t filled, the decay will deepen. You’ll start to feel pain, and you could end up needing root canal treatment, which is much more significant and costs more. So although you might not feel pain right now, it’s best to repair these holes as soon as possible.
