The lockdown has encouraged home baking across the country with many aspiring bakers looking to try tasty new recipes.
We all know that too much sugar can be harmful for your teeth, but banana bread doesn’t have to be full of sugar to be delicious. If you’re looking for a new recipe, why not have a go at baking our low-sugar, teeth-friendly banana bread?
Ingredients you’ll need:
- 2 tsp baking powder
- 125g dark chocolate chips
- 4 tbsp sweetener
- 3 tbsp honey
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 3 ripe bananas (mashed)
- 120g self-raising flour
- 30g plain flour
- 3 eggs (whisked)
- 50ml apple juice
How to make your banana bread:

- Preheat your oven to 160 degrees (fan)
- Add your mashed bananas, sweetener and apple juice into a bowl and mix together
- Stir in your flour
- Add in baking powder and honey, then stir
- Pour in whisked eggs and mix together
- Add in your vanilla extract
- Finally add the dark chocolate chips and give it one last stir
- Pour your mixture into a loaf tin lined with baking paper
- Bake in the oven for 50 minutes
