    Peter qualified from Cardiff University in 1987. He followed a career in general dentistry until taking up his post as the UK Clinical Director for a large corporate company. He has been at our practice since 2003 where he assisted in its opening.

    He also has a wealth of experience in implant dentistry, having carried out numerous implant treatments – from single-tooth to full-mouth restorations. Peter also offers intravenous sedation for anxious and nervous patients.

    Lisa has 30 years of experience as a dental hygienist. She is passionate about health education and has an active interest in forensic dentistry.

    Lisa qualified as a dental hygienist in 1990 from Leeds University. She has worked in a variety of dental fields, including NHS and private dental care, as well as in research, forensics and education.

    As a result, Lisa has a wealth of experience extending over 30 years. She is a member of the Higher Education Academy (HEA) having attained her PG Diploma in Medical Education two years ago. She is also graduating this summer with a master’s degree.

    Lisa has delivered postgraduate training for hygienists, therapists and dental nurses for over 15 years and currently is a lecturer with Cardiff University. She’s also a current examiner with NEBDN, the National Examining Board for Dental Nurses.

    Lisa has a passion for forensics and is an associate member of the British Association of Forensic Dentistry (BAFO). She was part of the odontology team during the Grenfell Tower disaster back in 2017 and has also been involved in acting as an expert witness for the courts on behalf of Dental Protection, in a crown court case.

    Lisa believes lifelong study is essential to the growth of any industry and is continuing her work in the further development of dental nurse training and postgraduate studies for all DCPs.

    No, orthodontics for adults is becoming more and more common. We can talk through your options with you.

    We do understand that some people really struggle with dental treatment. But we have lots of ways to help put you at ease. Please just tell us how you feel and what worries you, and then we can work together to decide on the right approach.

    Generally we recommend twice yearly check-ups every six months. However, this varies on a case by case basis. Your Bupa Dental Care dentist will talk to you about when and how often we need to see you.

    Fillings repair small holes in your tooth enamel. If they aren’t filled, the decay will deepen. You’ll start to feel pain, and you could end up needing root canal treatment, which is much more significant and costs more. So although you might not feel pain right now, it’s best to repair these holes as soon as possible.
