A word from our practice manager, Wendy Darby
Situated in the beautiful suburb of Summertown, North Oxford, our practice has been open since 1946. We’re well known in the local community for providing quality private dental care in a calm and welcoming environment.
Patient-centred care
We like to make visiting the dentist as easy as possible, which is why we offer late evening opening on a Tuesday, to fit around our patients’ busy lives. There’s local parking in the area and we’re easily accessible by bus and train, plus there are lots of places to leave your bicycle nearby.
We can also offer free Wi-Fi and refreshments, to help make your visit a comfortable and relaxing one.
We welcome new private patients, as well as referrals from other practices for a variety of treatment. Our dentists are committed to providing patient-centred care, with a minimally invasive approach and a focus on digital dentistry. This helps to give our patients a personal experience that suits your needs.
Treatments and services at our practice
We offer a wide range of private treatments including general dentistry, restorative dentistry and cosmetic dental treatments. Whether you’re looking for a general check-up or a complex treatment such as full-mouth reconstruction, we can help. Some of our most popular treatments include orthodontics and dental implants.
We can also provide direct access to see one of our hygienists. So, you don’t need to be a registered patient with us to have a hygienist appointment. We can offer modern hygienist techniques including Guided Biofilm Therapy and ultrasonic air-polishing equipment to give you a bright, healthy smile.
Services for nervous patients
We’re experienced in dealing with nervous patients and will try to make your visit to us as calm and relaxing as possible.
For those with a dental phobia, we can provide conscious dental sedation. Our relaxing environment in practice helps to put even our most nervous patients at ease.
Our referral services
As well as treating our own patients, we can also accept dental referrals from other general dental practitioners and have personal relationships with all our referrers. Get in touch with us to find out more.

Patient feedback
No, orthodontics for adults is becoming more and more common. We can talk through your options with you.
We do understand that some people really struggle with dental treatment. But we have lots of ways to help put you at ease. Please just tell us how you feel and what worries you, and then we can work together to decide on the right approach.
Generally we recommend twice yearly check-ups every six months. However, this varies on a case by case basis. Your Bupa Dental Care dentist will talk to you about when and how often we need to see you.
Fillings repair small holes in your tooth enamel. If they aren’t filled, the decay will deepen. You’ll start to feel pain, and you could end up needing root canal treatment, which is much more significant and costs more. So although you might not feel pain right now, it’s best to repair these holes as soon as possible.
