Ricardo began working with dental implants in 2005, and, in 2009, was awarded his master’s degree in Advanced Oral Implantology from the European University of Madrid. He has been working as a dentist with a focus on implants since 2010 and worked as an associate in various practices, including Harley Street, before joining us.

Ricardo's dental implant qualifications mean he’s performed a range of treatments from single tooth replacement to full mouth dental implants. He’s also qualified in several supporting techniques including bone augmentation, sinus lifts, guided bone regeneration and soft tissue grafting.

Ricardo often treats patients referred to the practice from other dentists. He has a good reputation in the area for his treatment of referral cases.

Shima is a specialist endodontist who graduated from Eastman Dental Hospital and went on to practice in Sweden.

She completed her undergraduate degree at the Department of Dental Medicine at the Karolinska Institute in Stockholm in 2002. She then worked in general practice in Sweden and continued in general practice for a further seven years after moving to the UK in 2003. She also taught clinical dentistry to undergraduate students at the Dental Institute at King's College London.

Shima was accepted onto the three-year, full-time specialist programme in endodontology at the Eastman Dental Institute at UCL. During that time, she treated referral patients for complex surgical and non-surgical root-canal procedures. She obtained her master’s in Clinical Dentistry (Endodontics) after two years and after a further year, she completed her final and specialist year of training.

After passing the MEndo examination at the Royal College of Surgeons, she was admitted to the GDC’s specialist list.

No, orthodontics for adults is becoming more and more common. We can talk through your options with you.

We do understand that some people really struggle with dental treatment. But we have lots of ways to help put you at ease. Please just tell us how you feel and what worries you, and then we can work together to decide on the right approach.

Generally we recommend twice yearly check-ups every six months. However, this varies on a case by case basis. Your Bupa Dental Care dentist will talk to you about when and how often we need to see you.

Fillings repair small holes in your tooth enamel. If they aren’t filled, the decay will deepen. You’ll start to feel pain, and you could end up needing root canal treatment, which is much more significant and costs more. So although you might not feel pain right now, it’s best to repair these holes as soon as possible.
