Alternative treatments to implants

About dental implants

Dental implants provide a long-lasting, fixed solution for missing teeth, but they’re not the right option for everyone. Your dentist can talk you through the most suitable option for you during an initial assessment.

Find out more about alternative treatments, including comparisons between implants and dentures, and implants and bridges.

Implants vs bridges

Implants and bridges are both fixed solutions for replacing missing teeth. With bridges, one or more replacement teeth are bonded together and attached to crowns at either end. Whereas implants are surgically placed into the jawbone and a crown is placed on top. Find out more about the differences between both solutions.

Implants vs dentures

Dentures are removable frameworks that carry false teeth. You can have full or partial dentures depending on how many teeth you have missing. Unlike dentures, implants are fixed into your jaw. Find out more about the differences between implants and dentures.
