Welcome to Bupa Dental Care Morpeth
For over 30 years, our practice, in the heart of Morpeth, has been treating dental patients from across Northumberland offering NHS and private treatments. We're currently accepting new private patients and also accept dentist referrals.
We’re in a lovely Grade-II listed building in the centre of Morpeth, with high ceilings, big windows and original fireplaces. While you wait, you can relax over a good cup of coffee, pick up a glossy magazine or connect to our free Wi-Fi. We’ll help you fill out any forms, explain your options and answer any questions you may have.
In 2017, we were delighted to win ‘Customer Service Team of the Year’ at the Heart of Morpeth Awards. And we’re especially proud that our receptionist, Beverley (who sometimes seems to know everyone in Morpeth) has been with us since 1989.
We love being part of the community and get involved in all sorts of charity events. We also donate our used dental equipment to developing countries.

Of our patients surveyed say ‘I feel involved in all decisions about my care.’
"I have just completed my cosmetic dental treatment carried out by Mr Matt Thorpe at Bupa Dental Care in Morpeth and I would like you to express how delighted I am with the results.
"The treatment involved wearing clear fixed braces to straighten my upper and lower teeth and the results are amazing.
"Matt made the whole process very easy and explained every stage of the treatment so your confidence is maintained at all times.
"He is a true professional and a perfectionist who genuinely cares about getting the best possible results for you.
"Thanks also to all the staff who create a friendly and relaxing atmosphere every time you visit."
"I’m absolutely over the moon with the treatment I received from Bupa Dental Care Morpeth. I recently had my top teeth straightened with clear braces for my wedding as I was always quite self-conscious of my smile and thought it was the perfect time to get them fixed. Being 27 when I started the treatment, I was adamant I was going to go with Invisalign since I thought they’d be less obvious, but after my consultation with Amy it was clear that clear braces were a much better option for me, and I’m so glad I listened to her advice because the results have been better than I could have hoped for (and they really aren’t as noticeable as you would think). Matthew carried out the treatment and he was fantastic throughout, he was really helpful when answering all my questions and putting my worries at ease. I had braces on my bottom teeth as a teenager and I remember how much they hurt, but I only had mild pain the first week of the braces being put on, and the rest of the four months were virtually pain free which I was amazed with as I was expecting to be in agony for most of it. Overall, the staff, care and attention have been exceptional, and I am thrilled with my new smile and know I’ll be so much more confident now on my wedding day. I highly recommend them, anyone looking to have cosmetic dental work done - you won’t be disappointed!"
No, orthodontics for adults is becoming more and more common. We can talk through your options with you.
We do understand that some people really struggle with dental treatment. But we have lots of ways to help put you at ease. Please just tell us how you feel and what worries you, and then we can work together to decide on the right approach.
Generally we recommend twice yearly check-ups every six months. However, this varies on a case by case basis. Your Bupa Dental Care dentist will talk to you about when and how often we need to see you.
Fillings repair small holes in your tooth enamel. If they aren’t filled, the decay will deepen. You’ll start to feel pain, and you could end up needing root canal treatment, which is much more significant and costs more. So although you might not feel pain right now, it’s best to repair these holes as soon as possible.
