We're also very fortunate to have a complete care pathway here for our patients, whereby a patient can come here in the morning, they can have optical and digital scans, as well as CT scans.

They can then have a smile design performed by the clinician and our on-site laboratory.

If we do spot problems that we can't deal with ourselves, we can refer to our colleagues at Hospital and Dental Clinic.

So we will normally do an internal referral and organise A consultation with a specialist at the practice.

We offer all forms of dental treatment for our patients, whether they are referred by clinicians,

whether they access their care directly, they can book online, they can call and book.

So some of our patients are referral-based and that comes directly from their general dental practitioner, but we do also accept self-referrals.

If they are being referred, then we do have a patient lead referral team that will aim to put them in with the best dentist to suit their needs.

When patients come to see us for the first time, we would normally do a check-up and look at all the soft and hard tissues, the neck area, the joints.

We do a cancer screening as well.

And normally, if it's quite a simple treatment plan, we can issue the treatment plan straight away before you even leave the building.

For more complex cases, we may get you back and do a full case assessment and take a bit longer to get your treatment plan together.

So the key thing for regular check-ups is mainly about making sure that all the oral tissues are healthy and all the hard tissues are healthy.

So we look out for any sinister lesions, that's our main priority.

And then the rest is to allow you to get to optimum general health and maintain that.

And we try and give some advice with regards to that.

I give them a really comprehensive exam, take photographs, and then show them what's actually in their mouths.

And that way they can actually then have a joint decision-making process where we jointly look at the X-rays and the photographs, and then really come up with a plan which is tailored specifically for that individual.

I'm one of the prosthodontists here at Hospital Lane.

I'm very fortunate to work here as a specialist prosthodontist whereby I can provide prosthetic care for my patients.

Prosthodontics is an arm of dentistry whereby we replace and repair badly broken down teeth.

The best thing about prosthodontics is you get to work with other aspects of the dental team.

I liaise very closely with the orthodontist, the periodontist, oral surgeons, as well as the implant dentist.
