Sandy began her dental training at the University of Glasgow Dental School. After graduating with honours, she began her dental career as a vocational trainee in an NHS practice in Rochdale, where she received the vocational training prize for the North West of England in 2003. She then took up a senior house officer position in oral and maxillofacial surgery at Wythenshawe Hospital in Manchester. During her time as an SHO Sandy studied and gained membership of the Faculty of Dental Surgery of the Royal College of Surgeons of England.
Sandy moved on to study a postgraduate diploma in dental practice studies, including fixed and removable prosthodontics and oral surgery on the University of Bristol Postgraduate Dental Programme, prior to completing her implant diploma in 2014 and qualifying in 2016.
Sandy has a keen interest in empowering the next generation of dentists and spent four years from 2010 as an undergraduate clinical teaching fellow in restorative dentistry at the University Dental Hospital of Manchester.
Sandy has a special interest in dental implants and in 2016, formalised her expertise by qualifying as an implantologist with a diploma in implant dentistry from the Royal College of Surgeons of England.
Sandy also enjoys providing restorative treatments, specifically the provision of aesthetic composite restorations, crowns and veneers, bioclear (space closure), oral surgery, and endodontic (root) treatment.
Sandy is a current member of the Royal College of Surgeons of England Faculty of Dental Surgeons and joint member of the Faculty of General Dental Practice. She is also a current member of the British Dental Association, The Association of Dental Implantology and the ITI International Team for Implantology.
