A warm welcome to The Smile Centre Canterbury
Located in the city centre of Canterbury, The Smile Centre Canterbury has been providing dental care to the local community for over 20 years. We’re a modern, fully private dental practice providing a wide range of dental treatments and services. We’re accepting new private patients and provide a wide range of services including orthodontics, endodontics (root canal treatment) and dental implants.
Our practice offers a warm, calm environment for you to have your treatment in. You can relax in our comfy waiting room with free Wi-Fi and refreshments while you wait for your appointment.
Our treatments and services
We offer a range of private treatments from general check-ups, emergency appointments and hygiene appointments, to dental implants and cosmetic services such as teeth whitening and veneers to help brighten your smile.
We have two GDC registered specialists at our practice in the fields of orthodontics and endodontics (root canal treatments). Some of the orthodontic treatments we offer include fixed metal braces and Invisalign aligners. Get in touch if you’re looking for a straighter smile to see how we can help.
Dental implants in Canterbury
We offer dental implants to help you discreetly replace missing teeth. Our dentist, Ashley, has been providing implants for 20 years and is known for providing smile in a day treatment – a way to replace a full arch of missing teeth with dental implants in one day.
Our dental referral services
As well as looking after our own patients, we also accept referrals from other dentists. Our practice has its own CBCT scanner which is available to both patients of the surgery and as a standalone service for external referrers. We also make crowns and mouthguards on-site.
Services for nervous patients
We understand that some people are anxious about visiting the dentist. We’re very experienced with nervous patients and will support you every step of the way with your dental treatment. Please tell us if you’re particularly nervous and we’ll be more than happy to help put you at ease.
Finding The Smile Centre Canterbury
You’ll find us right in the centre of Canterbury, opposite the city wall. Canterbury East railway station and the main city bus terminal are also nearby.

Whitening can be an important part of a smile makeover. We always check the suitability of your teeth, as it may not be recommended for some patients with high sensitivity. It’s important to know that we may not be able to treat all of your teeth: whitening can’t alter the colour of fillings, crowns, veneers, for example. Your dentist can explain and suggest any options open to you.
We do understand that some people really struggle with dental treatment. But we have lots of ways to help put you at ease. Please just tell us how you feel and what worries you, and then we can work together to decide on the right approach.
Generally we recommend twice yearly check-ups every six months. However, this varies on a case by case basis. Your Bupa Dental Care dentist will talk to you about when and how often we need to see you.
