So, what is Invisalign treatment?
Invisalign treatment involves wearing sets of aligners that gradually straighten your teeth until you reach your desired smile.
They’re custom-made to your mouth, so they’ll fit comfortably, and are clear and virtually-invisible, so people shouldn’t notice you’re wearing them. They’re also removable, so you can take them out for brushing and eating.
There are different types of treatment available depending on your needs. These include Invisalign Complete, the most commonly recommended treatment, Invisalign Lite, for less complex cases and Invisalign Express for cases requiring minor corrections.
Why would someone choose Invisalign treatment?
Invisalign treatment is discreet and bespoke, allowing you to feel in control of your teeth straightening journey.
You may want straighter teeth for a special occasion, such as a wedding, or are just looking to achieve the smile you’ve always wanted. Many patients feel self-conscious about their smile and want to improve their confidence. For some, it’s about function too – being able to eat and talk more easily.
Is Invisalign treatment right for you?
Invisalign aligners are an alternative to traditional fixed braces. They can address concerns from a young age, as well as offer adults the chance for a straighter smile - I see patients from the age of seven up to 67 and beyond.
Some of my patients had previous orthodontic treatment and their teeth have moved, due to reasons such as not wearing their retainer.

What does the journey look like for an Invisalign patient?
First of all, you’ll have a 30-minute consultation to discuss your concerns and goals. We consider how the treatment will affect your entire profile, lips and cheeks, not just your teeth.
We’ll then use an iTero scanner to produce a 3D model of your potential results, so you can see the outcome you could expect before starting treatment.
If you’re happy to proceed, you can book a full consultation, where we’ll assess your suitability, discuss your needs in-depth and create a treatment plan that’s bespoke to you.
A few weeks later, you’ll receive your first set of aligners and we’ll check-in on your progress through regular recall appointments. And after you’ve finished your journey, we’ll provide you with retainers and support to help you maintain your smile long-term.
What results can you expect?
Invisalign treatment can really boost someone’s smile and confidence. Not only can you achieve a straighter smile, but it can make day-to-day life easier, as you’re able to clean your teeth more easily, eat more comfortably and have a more comfortable bite.
