A specialist private clinic for dental and self-referrals

Colchester Dental Specialist Centre provides a wide range of advanced services on behalf of general practice dentists who refer their patients to us. We offer our high-level skills, extensive experience and specialist equipment for the management of complex cases across East Anglia including North Essex, Suffolk, Cambridge and Ipswich.

Our specialists and surgeons are all very highly qualified and are well-respected in their fields. Most have been or continue to be involved in research, teaching and examining. Many have treated patients at prestigious university teaching hospitals in the UK, Europe or North America.

The ambience for our patients is very important, so we offer our advanced dental treatments within a more exclusive, relaxed and personalised environment.

Patients are referred to us by their dentists. This means we can’t take appointments made by patients (except for hygienist sessions, which can be booked direct).

Our self-referral services

Although we’re primarily a dental referral centre, we also accept self-referrals for some of our services including hygiene appointments and teeth straightening treatment. If you haven’t been referred by a dentist but would still like to visit us, please get in touch and we can talk you through the treatments and services we have available.

Orthodontic treatment

At our practice we offer a wide range of orthodontic treatments on both a referral and self-referral basis. Teeth straightening treatments available include fixed braces, Invisalign treatment and more. If you’d like a straighter smile, please get in touch. We’ll be happy to talk you through your options for teeth straightening.

Our facilities and equipment

We have five surgeries (four clinical and one for hygienist sessions) and have invested in specialist equipment to support precision diagnostics, planning and treatment. These include two high-powered microscopes for endodontic work and a low-dose CBCT scanner for 3D imaging. We’re more than happy to provide imaging-only services to dentists in general practice.

How to find us

Turn off The Crescent where you see a low-level green sign marked ‘800-896’. Continue until you see the navy blue sign ‘841-847 The Crescent’, and we’re in the corner. Please use the free parking bays for 841 and 842. For more detailed directions, do contact us.

Implants at Colchester Dental Specialist Centre

If you have one or more missing teeth, and are looking for high quality, long-lasting and discreet treatment, our clinicians are experienced in placing dental implants. Dental implants can last as long as your natural teeth if you care for them properly. Tailored to your smile, each dental implant is carefully created bespoke to you. Get in touch with us to find out if implants are right for you.

Branded treatments and services

Whitening can be an important part of a smile makeover. We always check the suitability of your teeth, as it may not be recommended for some patients with high sensitivity. It’s important to know that we may not be able to treat all of your teeth: whitening can’t alter the colour of fillings, crowns, veneers, for example. Your dentist can explain and suggest any options open to you.

We do understand that some people really struggle with dental treatment. But we have lots of ways to help put you at ease. Please just tell us how you feel and what worries you, and then we can work together to decide on the right approach.

Generally we recommend twice yearly check-ups every six months. However, this varies on a case by case basis. Your Bupa Dental Care dentist will talk to you about when and how often we need to see you.

No, Bupa Dental Care practices are open to everyone. If you do have Bupa dental insurance, at selected practices we can guide you through your claim.

First, please check that our practice offers the services you’re looking for, then simply use the referral form on our contact page. Do feel free to give us a call and tell us what you’re looking for.
