What are dental implants?
A discreet, long-lasting solution, dental implants are placed directly within the jawbone, and replace the root of your missing tooth. While roots support natural teeth, dental implants are used to support a crown or denture (a false tooth).

What is the dental implant process?
You will see an experienced dentist for your consultation, who may undertake X-rays or scans, to assess your suitability. Your dentist will discuss your individual treatment plan, and you will be provided with a quote for your treatment. The dental implant procedure is often performed under local anaesthetic and usually involves two separate procedures. Dr Tim Doswell stated: “The issue of having a failing crown at the front of the mouth is extremely common. The traditional method would be to take the affected tooth out and let the extraction socket heal for up to 12 weeks. It used to be necessary to fill the gap with a temporary denture to allow for healing. But now, thanks to the latest techniques and materials (and backed by clinical research), we can remove the compromised tooth, place the implant straight into the gap and fit a temporary crown all in one visit.
