Invisalign braces with Bupa Dental Care
Invisalign treatment performed at Bupa Dental Care Stamford. Dentist used Invisalign treatment and a bleach-bond to achieve this result.
What is Invisalign treatment?
Invisalign treatment allows you to transform your smile discreetly and comfortably with virtually-invisible, removable braces.
Invisalign aligners are completely transparent and custom made to gradually straighten your teeth without using any metal wires or brackets. Your aligners can discreetly correct several different orthodontic issues to give you a balanced, even smile in as little as three months1.
The aligners look like clear, flexible retainers and are removable, so you can take them out when eating or brushing your teeth.
If you’re considering braces to straighten your teeth, there are discreet options available, find a Bupa Dental Care orthodontist near you.
Laura, a Bupa Dental Care dentist, answers your frequently asked questions about Invisalign aligners, including how much they cost, their benefits and how long treatment takes. Watch to find out more.
How Invisalign works
Here's a step-by-step guide to Invisalign treatment
Visit your Bupa Dental Care dentist
At your first appointment we’ll help you decide your course of treatment. The dentist will take bite impressions of your teeth and send them to Invisalign.
Making your aligners
3D imaging technology is used to transform your bite impressions into a custom-made series of clear and removable aligners. There may be as many as 48 in the series or as a few as 12, depending on your requirements.
Receive your aligners
During your next visit to your Bupa Dental Care dentist, you will receive your first set of aligners. Your dentist will probably give you a few additional sets for you to wear before you return for your next visit.
Wear your aligners
You’ll wear each set of the aligners for about two weeks, removing them only to eat, drink, brush and floss. You’ll need to visit your dentist every six weeks to check that your treatment is progressing as planned. The total treatment time averages from 12 to 18 months2.
Finish your treatment
Your treatment ends when you have worn each set of aligners. To help keep your new straighter smile, you will wear retainers at night for six months, and then usually a few times a week as instructed by your dentist.
What are the benefits of Invisalign?
Virtually invisible
Unlike traditional braces, the Invisalign system doesn’t use wires or brackets. The clear aligners are virtually invisible, so it’s barely noticeable that you’re having your teeth straightened.

Comfortable
Invisalign clear aligners are more comfortable than traditional braces3.The transparent aligners are flexible and custom made for a comfortable fit. They’re removable too, so you’ll find it easy to brush your teeth and eat normally during treatment.

Range of solutions
The latest evolution of Invisalign aligners can even treat complex cases. The four main versions are:
- Invisalign Full - The most commonly recommended treatment.
- Invisalign Teen - For mouths that are still growing and changing.
- Invisalign Lite - For less complex cases.
- Invisalign i7 - Delivers rapid results for issues involving just a few teeth.

See your finished smile
Invisalign treatment uses ClinCheck 3D imaging technology, to assess your teeth and create your customised aligners.
Before your treatment starts, your orthodontist will be able to show you a digital representation of how your teeth should look once you finish your treatment.

How much does Invisalign cost?
The cost of Invisalign treatment varies from case to case. Treatments start from around £1,500 and can go up to £5,000 depending on the type of Invisalign aligners you need and the complexity of the issues with your teeth.
At Bupa Dental Care we believe in transparent pricing, so your dentist will always explain costs in full before beginning any treatment.
How long does treatment take?
The average Invisalign treatment takes 12-18 months but varies from case to case. At your initial consultation, your dentist would be able to recommend which type of aligners would be right for you, and outline how long treatment would take.
Is Invisalign treatment painful?
Invisalign treatment isn’t painful, but when you first put your aligners in you can expect to feel some discomfort as you get used to wearing them. As you wear the aligners more, they will feel more comfortable and natural.
Simply put, you can’t achieve a straighter smile without some level of discomfort. Teeth straightening gradually moves your teeth into a different position, which makes them temporarily more sensitive.
