New confirmation of special conditions document for health insurance and health trust customers

We’re introducing a new special conditions document for our health insurance and health trust customers to protect their confidentiality.

From Monday 26 July 2021 membership and registration certificates will:

  • no longer include a special conditions section
  • say that a confirmation of special conditions will be sent to anyone to whom a special condition/s applies
  • confirm whether or not a special condition/s has been applied
  • not specifically name who special conditions have been applied to so that confidentiality can be maintained.

Whenever we issue a membership or registration certificate (for new business, renewals, mid contract adjustments or amendments), we’ll automatically send a confirmation of special conditions document separately to the main member or beneficiary, and any dependants on the policy aged 16 and over. Special conditions information about dependants aged under 16 will be included on the main member’s beneficiary’s confirmation.

The confirmation of special conditions document will form part of the contractual documentation we issue to customers and needs to be read together with their membership or registration certificate and guide.

For individual customers, intermediaries can request a copy of the customers’ confirmation of special conditions document so long as the customer (aged 16 or over) has signed a data consent form. Please call the Intermediary Support Team to arrange this.
