Palliative care
What is palliative care?
Palliative care, which is often referred to as end of life care, is a specialist type of care for people nearing the end of their life. It offers personalised support and care to help make the end of life as comfortable as possible. Palliative care is usually more hands-on than residential care, and residents receive round-the-clock care in a calm environment.
Alternatively, browse by region to discover available care homes within a specific area.
We want to help you live as well as possible
Some of our care homes offer palliative care. This is where a dedicated team of nurses provides round-the-clock care for every resident in a comfortable and peaceful setting. Since we understand that illnesses affect everyone differently, we work with each of our residents to tailor our palliative care to their personal needs and preferences.
It’s a difficult and emotional time when someone close to you is seriously ill. That’s why our goal is to improve not only your loved one’s quality of life, but yours as well. So our care homes offer support to the whole family, helping you to cope throughout your loved one’s care.
When is palliative care appropriate?
Palliative care provides support for people approaching the end of their life. This could be due to old age, or because of a terminal illness. We also offer our residents specialist care for specific conditions, such as dementia care and Parkinson’s care. If you’re not sure which type of care might be best for your loved one, our customer care team is here to help you to decide.
Our palliative care focuses on:
- managing the physical symptoms of your loved one’s condition.
- improving their quality of life, as well as that of your family.
- providing round-the-clock care in a calm and comfortable environment.
- understanding and respecting your loved one’s wishes from the start.
- providing continuous support for your family.
