How to choose a care home

It can be overwhelming knowing where to begin when it comes to arranging elderly care. That’s why we’re here to guide you through the process step-by-step.

How do I find the right kind of care?

Deciding that you or a loved one needs care is a big step, and it can be hard to know what the next step is. Whether you’re looking at a Bupa care home or not, we’ll take you through the process of finding the right kind of care, the perfect home to provide it and the ways you can pay for it all.

Step 3:

Find care homes that are suitable for you

Next, your local authority will provide a list of homes that meet your needs. You can also look in your chosen area for Bupa care homes and the services they provide so you can add these to your shortlist.

Step 5:

Have a care home assessment

Once you've chosen your care home, they'll arrange to come to you to do a care needs assessment. This is to make sure they can meet all your needs and start to put together your unique care plan.

This can be done at any time, even if you haven’t had the local authority assessment yet.

Step 6:

Settle into your new home and review regularly

From the day our residents move in, we do everything we can to ease any worries and help them settle in.

Your care and financial needs will be regularly reviewed.
