We now offer 0% finance
You can now spread the cost of any appointment that costs £250 and over, so you don’t have to pay upfront.

Whether you have symptoms or not our Sexual health services have a check suitable for you.

Our range of checks are suitable for people who have symptoms and want to discuss with a GP, those who may have been at risk of contracting a STI from a sexual partner or for those who don't have symptoms but want to check to see if they have any current STI's.

Our team of GP's are available in our Bupa Health Centres to ensure you get the best care possible whatever your need. Our services are discreet and confidential.

It's also good to know we're here for you beyond testing. If you have a positive result for any STI, our Positive Promise means you'll be able to speak to a Bupa GP to discuss your next steps. Plus, if you need any support in the coming month, our nurses will be there for you 24/7.

When should I get tested after unprotected sex?

Our sexual health checks

Our sexual health services start at £99. Here you can find the right product for you.

What can you expect from our sexual health checks?

The cost of the appointment will vary depending on what tests you require and if you need to have a consultation with a Bupa GP. For further information please see above for prices.

We will share negative test results with you electronically. You will receive an email containing a link to our secure customer portal. You'll be able to see a summary of the results. In the case of a positive test result, we will contact you to arrange next steps to speak to one of our Bupa GPs. Once you’ve discussed next steps, you will be able to review the results via the secure customer portal.

If you test positive one of our team will contact you to book a follow up with a Bupa GP. They will discuss next steps with you and will offer the support of our contact tracing team (partner notification) if appropriate. Your results will then be available on our secure customer portal for you to view. On the portal you will also have access to a number to contact our Anytime HealthLine nursing team. They are available 24 hours a day, 365 days a year to offer support. This service will be available to those who test positive for one month from the date of their positive test.

Regular testing is important because it helps to pick up things early and reduce the spread of infections. The earlier something is diagnosed, the easier it is to treat and there is less likelihood of longstanding related health issues. It is recommended that everyone comes for regular sexual health testing at least once a year. This is even if you are in a committed relationship. You should get tested more frequently if you are under 25 or have multiple partners.

It is always advised to tell current and previous partners if you test positive for any STI. This is to prevent onward spread of infection. It also helps ensure these partners do not get any complications from infection. How far back you go will depend on the infection but your doctor will recommend the next steps. Notifying partners is a public health duty. However, you are under no obligation to do it except in certain very rare circumstances.

Before the appointment you will receive a link to a pre-appointment questionnaire. Please complete this as accurately as you can, as this will assist our team during your appointment. When you arrive at our centre, our team will welcome you and guide you where to wait for your appointment. One of our specially trained health advisers will then take you through to a private room where they will talk you through the tests they are going to do. They will also discuss with you how and when you will get your results, what the next steps will be and answer any questions you have. If you have booked an appointment that includes time with a Bupa GP, they will discuss any concerns or symptoms you have. And if necessary, they will do a clinical examination.

We will require your name, email address, contact phone number and payment details to secure your booking.

Please make an appointment as soon as possible and we can recommend the next steps with testing and treatment.

A finger prick blood test collects a very small amount of blood. It can't collect enough blood to say for certain whether you have HIV or syphilis. Instead the result will tell you if it's reactive or negative. Reactive means that you may be infected. You will need to have this confirmed with a blood test taken by a clinician at a face-to-face appointment.

This is standard practice in the UK and applies to all currently available at-home HIV and syphilis tests. A GP will talk you through the next steps if this happens.
