On the edge of Gillingham, surrounded by open fields
A handsome building in period style, with a large wraparound garden and two courtyard gardens – ideal for a short stroll and a glass of sherry before sitting down to a tasty lunch with new friends.

Great places to socialise, enjoy an activity or have quiet time
The café area is just one of several attractive shared spaces at The Mellowes where residents can catch up with family and friends over a cup of coffee and a tempting slice of cake.
Pretty colour co-ordinated bedrooms
We’ve made the rooms a pleasant place to spend a bit of me time, perhaps reading, knitting or with a crossword.

Pleasant gardens where you’re welcome to roll your sleeves up
The large garden has brightly painted garden furniture and a pergola, residents are welcome to do gardening.

A bright and airy dining room
We provide good and varied food and smartly set tables often with fresh flowers. Visitors are always welcome to come for a meal.

There’s no typical day at The Mellowes, but we arrange plenty to do, both here at the home as well as out and about.
Clubs and groups for special interests
Our home has an art club, pottery, Knit and Natter sessions, and we set up a gentleman’s club on our residents' request.

Fun ways to stay mobile and active
Our gardening club and gentle exercise classes make sure there is always a way for residents to keep healthy.

Connected to the local community
We regularly take residents out for lunch at the garden centre and get visits from the local Brownies and primary school children.

"The home promoted choice and decision making… Staff had a good understanding of the people they cared for and supported them in decisions about how they liked to live their lives. People were supported by staff who respected their privacy and dignity… and responded to their changing needs."
"It was such a relief to have Mum cared for in the best possible place. Such love and care with superb meals. She needed a great deal of nursing care which she certainly received. She was always treated with care and dignity as I was also. I give thanks to you all still every day."

"I was transferred from hospital to The Mellowes for rehab. I have been very happy here and been extremely well cared for. The staff, both day and night, are very caring and helpful. All the patients are very friendly. The meals are very good and enjoyable. The staff make one feel very secure and in a homely environment. I would thoroughly recommend this care home to anyone at any time."

"The care my mother had could not have been better. The staff are fantastic, I cannot express how much I think of the staff in words. The home is lovely, I chose it over 2 others. My mother was happy there, her care could not have been better."
