These are medications that are used once a week.

The medication works by suppressing your appetite. It also reduces how quickly your stomach empties, meaning you’ll feel fuller for longer. It can therefore help with weight loss for those with a high BMI.

Using weight loss medications as part of the Weight Management Plan can help to achieve and maintain healthy weight loss.

You will receive a kit of medication. Your kit will come with instructions on how to use it and prepare the treatment.

You will administer the medication under the skin, a person can help you to do this. The medication will be into an area such as the stomach, upper leg or upper arm. If you have any questions or concerns on this the GP will be able to help in your appointment.

There are a number of benefits to choosing Bupa’s Weight Management Plan.

1. You’ll spend time with a GP to make sure weight loss medication is the right choice for you. You’ll have a 30-minute in-depth consultation to discuss your medical history and your needs.

2. Participants who attended Bupa's lifestyle coaching sessions lost 18.96% more weight than those who didn't.

3. You’ll get ongoing support from our 24/7 Anytime HealthLine nurses, lifestyle coaches, admin team and clinical teams.

4. You’ll have access to a 15 minute GP appointment every 6 months.

You will receive an automated payment link to your email address from our pharmacy partner to take payment for your treatment. The medication will have enough for four weekly doses. It will be sent out after payment and you’ll receive it within two days.

After another three and a half weeks, you will receive a questionnaire to give you the choice whether you would like to stay on the same dosage or change. Once the clinician has reviewed your questionnaire you will receive an automated payment link for your next prescription.

If you have any queries or are unsure about using your medication, our team can chat to you about your options.
