“Staff understood where people required support to reduce the risk of avoidable harm. Staff understood how to support people when they displayed distressed behaviours. Staff provided effective reassurance and people responded well. The provider conducted assessments to evaluate and minimise risks to people's safety and wellbeing. Care plans contained explanations of the control measures for staff to follow to keep people safe.”
"We were very nervous on arrival, but as soon as we entered, we were made to feel so welcome. I spent four hours with my sister that day until she was settled in. The other ladies also welcomed my sister. Everywhere is spotless and homely, there is a tuck shop, cafe, and a hairdresser comes weekly. We are encouraged to visit and can go out, always letting them know, of course. There are activities and entertainment most days, and the staff join in. The meals are to die for; there is a choice at every mealtime and are well presented, and everything is homemade. In between meals, they come around with drinks and snacks, never time to get hungry. Now lastly, I come to the staff - what a team! From the cleaners, laundry, carers and managers, they are so professional, caring and kind, always keeping relatives informed. God bless every one of them. She settled in quickly."

"Mum has been in Edmund House for 3 years. Dad was here previously. She is very well cared for by caring and dedicated staff who treat her with kindness and respect. Staff keep us well informed and answer all our questions without hesitation. The covid experience was not pleasant for anyone but during this time our confidence in her care increased. Staff are happy to deal with any concerns we may have. The staff are the most important aspect of her care - we continue to be vigilant but have to say very happy with her care and treatment. Thank you staff."
Daughter of Resident, 11 November 2022, carehome.co.uk
"My mum has been here since December 2021, very settled and well cared for. Carers keep me very well informed on Mum's wellbeing. Mum has just celebrated her 98th birthday and the home put on a lovely spread for us and we had a lovely afternoon with my mum and sister who travelled up from Kent for it. Nothing is too much trouble for any of the members of staff. Many thanks."
