"All the staff at Norewood Lodge are one big family and we are passionate about what we do for our residents and families, we are very much part of the local community."
Lynn Margaret Millward - Home Manager at Norewood Lodge

Great places to socialise, enjoy an activity or have quiet time
Residents can enjoy relaxing in one of our many lounges with a cup of tea or a good book. There are spaces around the home where residents can spend time socialising with one another.
Spend time within our rolling landscape gardens
Our gardens are secure, so residents can explore safely whenever they like.

Take in the sun on our seated porch area
Outside, we have a large porch filled with seating, so there’s plenty of room for friends and family to get together when the weather’s nice.

Make time for those special occasions
Our private dining area enables residents to hold private celebrations for any event.

There’s no typical day at Norewood Lodge, but we arrange plenty to do, both here at the home as well as out and about.
Polish your ballroom dancing techniques
Ballroom dancing is just one of the many activities we offer and we encourage our residents to participate and learn something new.

Paint pictures and make stories with the young
We are regularly visited by school children who participate in painting and social events with the residents.

“Staff had built trusting relationships with people. People were happy with the care they received. Staff interactions with people were positive and caring. There were organised activities and people were able to choose to socialise or spend time alone. There were strong links with the local community. People and relatives felt able to raise concerns with staff and the manager.”
"Mum received excellent care from all the staff at Norewood Lodge. So helpful with a quick response so we were able to transfer mum from the hospital. They were compassionate and caring and remembered mum from a previous respite visit. It was tremendously reassuring knowing mum was being so well cared for and we can't thank all the staff enough."

"My mother was accepted into Norewood Lodge Care Home initially for two weeks of respite care but after a diagnosis of cancer, stayed for five months until her death. At any stage of her illness, she was cared for and treated with kindness and respect. Our family were all welcomed by members of staff and kept informed of any changes in her condition or needs."

"We are extremely happy with how Norewood Lodge Care Home in Portishead made the final few months of my Dads life full of care, safety and dignity. My Dad had been suffering from Parkinson’s disease for years and when he started to struggle to get out of bed and repeatably falling over Norewood Lodge was an obvious choice for somewhere that could make sure he was safe in his final time with us. We’d heard good things about Norewood Lodge from friends that lived in the area and whilst Covid made it difficult to see him at times we always felt the staff to be friendly and accommodating at all times. My Dad was always well dressed, in clean bedding, nicely shaven and (most importantly) happy. When my Dad died the excellent nursing staff noted his rapid deterioration which allowed us to be by his bedside when he peacefully slipped away from us which we will always be eternally grateful for. Clearly the past few months have been very difficult for us but a silver lining has been Norewood Lodge."
