High-quality care set in an 1870 hotel
Southlands is built within a historic former hotel that offers landscape gardens and open, light filled rooms. Residents are encouraged to bring personal belongings and furniture.
Great places to socialise, enjoy an activity or have quiet time
Residents can relax in bright lounges and socialise over a drink. We encourage them to choose how to spend their time and if they want some seclusion there are spaces both inside and out.
Experience quality coffee with old and new friends
With the coffee bar and lounges, residents will be spoilt for choice when choosing where to relax.
Rekindle old dancing passions
We have our very own ballroom that residents can use to practice their old dance moves.
Relax in the onsite Salon
There is a wide selection of beautician options available at our salon for residents to enjoy.
There’s no typical day at Southlands, but we arrange plenty to do, both here at the home as well as out and about.
Spend time with younger generations
We get regular toddler visits and play days where they come and spend time with our residents.

“We saw people were regularly asked their opinion of the food and that the manager had taken steps to make changes where possible to meet people's requests. For example, we saw people had asked for a coffee shop to be available in the lounge and this had been implemented. The atmosphere was quiet and calm.”

"Southlands proved to be the perfect place for the latter stages of her life. My mum was fantastically cared for by all of the staff, she felt safe, nurtured and loved by so many at Southlands. As her health deteriorated the sensitivity of and level of care which she experienced from those looking after her at Southlands was exceptional. Several members of staff went way above the call of duty to look after her and to ensure she was comfortable. "Mum was settled, in safe hands and was very happy to be there. The care she had was second to none, very attentive, and always very caring to all the nursing staff and other carers. There is always plenty of different activities organised for residents and Mum did take part in many and enjoyed them.
The home was always a pleasant, bright clean and friendly place to visit. All the staff are welcoming and willing to help and will go the extra mile if necessary. The garden too is always kept in good condition and is a great area to spend time in. We have recommended Southlands without hesitation to other people."
