High-quality care set in an 1870 hotel
Southlands is built within a historic former hotel that offers landscape gardens and open, light filled rooms. Residents are encouraged to bring personal belongings and furniture.

Great places to socialise, enjoy an activity or have quiet time
Residents can relax in bright lounges and socialise over a drink. We encourage them to choose how to spend their time and if they want some seclusion there are spaces both inside and out.
Experience quality coffee with old and new friends
With the coffee bar and lounges, residents will be spoilt for choice when choosing where to relax.

Rekindle old dancing passions
We have our very own ballroom that residents can use to practice their old dance moves.

Relax in the onsite Salon
There is a wide selection of beautician options available at our salon for residents to enjoy.

There’s no typical day at Southlands, but we arrange plenty to do, both here at the home as well as out and about.
Spend time with younger generations
We get regular toddler visits and play days where they come and spend time with our residents.

Keep up old hobbies or start new ones
We will always support residents in pursuing their hobbies both old and new.

See stunning landscapes in the local area
There is a fantastic range of local landscapes that our residents can go out and see.

“We saw people were regularly asked their opinion of the food and that the manager had taken steps to make changes where possible to meet people's requests. For example, we saw people had asked for a coffee shop to be available in the lounge and this had been implemented. The atmosphere was quiet and calm.”
"I have found the care to be absolutely wonderful; the staff can't do enough for me. If I need anything, then nothing is too much trouble. The entertainment staff are brilliant, they work very hard to make our days here enjoyable. When I need to go to the hospital for appointments, transport is always sorted out for me, which is important. The food is great, and if there is nothing on the menu I fancy, the staff are always willing to provide an alternative. In general, a first-rate place altogether. Full marks from me!"

"The staff at Southlands are just lovely. The system for visiting my mum is very thorough and professional. I feel safe entering the home. My mum continues to receive excellent care from the staff, and this only reinforces my view that she is in the best place for her needs. The meals are served with care, her likes/dislikes catered for and thought given to her very small appetite. Would highly recommend Southlands."

"When we looked around Southlands, we knew immediately it would be the happiest home for Dad to spend his twilight years. Dad lived so happily and content there for 4-years and created wonderful relationships with all of the staff and residents. It was a very pleasant place to visit, and we enjoyed spending time there as a family, also creating relationships with staff, residents and other visiting family members. Dad enjoyed all the activities in the home, especially the singers and joined in with the wonderful variety of activities that were provided. Because the building is so spacious, it feels like a hotel and there is plenty of room for everybody to relax and enjoy the surroundings, including the well-kept garden with an aviary full of brightly coloured budgies. Unfortunately, Dad passed away last year during Covid, and the staff made his final days so wonderful, allowing us into the home to be with him and say our goodbyes. We will never forget their kindness and compassion."
