How we’re keeping our residents safe from coronavirus (COVID-19)

We’re following strict infection control measures in all our homes
Be assured we’re taking extra measures to prevent the spread of infection in each of our homes, including frequent deep cleaning and rolling out testing for our staff and residents.

All our homes have been supplied with the necessary supplies of PPE, and our in-house procurement team is ready to source further supplies if needed.
We’re keeping residents and their loved ones connected
We’re doing everything we can to keep our residents connected to their loved ones and the wider community, from video calls to letters and our new Bupa Buddy service.

Recently refurbished in all the shared spaces
Our spacious home is partly Grade-II listed, with beautiful oak panelling and huge leaded windows. Stroll through our sunny conservatory into the garden and you might spot some ducks waddling over from the river.

“Our home is friendly, welcoming and homely. My staff team are passionate about high quality care and work extremely hard to deliver person-centred care. Our food is all home cooked and we offer a wide range of activities to meet every one’s interests and abilities.”
Karen Raggett - Home manager at Sutton Lodge

Great places to socialise, enjoy an activity or have quiet time
Residents at Sutton Lodge are free to choose for themselves how and where they spend their time. And their friends and family are always welcome – for a visit, a meal, or just to join in with whatever’s going on.
Feels just like home
Our converted Edwardian residence still holds many of its original features, but steel retains a homely feel.

Pretty bedrooms
We have attractive soft furnishings and interestingly shaped rooms with bay windows and gables.

Beautiful big garden
The garden has a water feature, raised flower beds that make it easy to do some gardening, and a seating area to relax on.

There’s no typical day at Sutton Lodge, but we arrange plenty to do, both here at the home as well as out and about.
Lots of fun to be had
There are movie afternoons with popcorn, visiting performers, and trips down to the river to get an ice-cream.

Staying sharp
We encourage residents to keep their mind and body together with music and gentle exercises.

We love animals
Wilf the sausage dog is a pet therapy dog, and there’s also Tabitha the cat. We have pet therapy with visiting chickens, kittens and rabbits. We’ve raised chicks in the past. We have visits from Zoo Lab, which brings in unusual beasties and creepy crawlies.

“People, relatives and staff consistently told us the service was well-led. There was a caring and warm culture within the service with a clear drive to provide high quality care. People had developed caring and meaningful relationships with staff. One relative told us, "I do feel [relative] is genuinely loved here."
"I have received excellent care whilst staying here after an operation. All the staff have been very caring, helpful, cheerful and above all, encouraging. The standard of food has been very good and always available - even during the night. Nothing has been too much trouble."

"My father is currently in Sutton Lodge. The staff are wonderful and can’t do enough for him. He said the food is lovely, and they do lots of activities. I would not hesitate in recommending this nursing home."
Daughter of Resident, 4 June 2021, carehome.co.uk
"My dad received outstanding care at Sutton Lodge, which was quick to adapt to ever-changing Covid restrictions and allowed outdoor visits when that was possible. All the staff I spoke to or met were very kind and compassionate, both to residents and relatives. The home itself is a lovely environment with a garden and so many activities to keep residents entertained. I have no hesitation in recommending Sutton Lodge care home."
