Kindness, dignity and respect are at the heart of what we do
Situated near Newbury, Thatcham Court warmly welcomes every new resident with a moving-in basket. And to ensure we always know about their ideas and concerns, we have a residents committee.

“Welcome to Thatcham Court care home. My staff would be delighted to show you around our warm and friendly home. The staff take pride in caring for our residents and ensuring they are at the heart of everything we do. At Thatcham Court we are like a big happy family and would welcome you to join us”

Great places to socialise, enjoy an activity or have quiet time
This purpose-built home has been designed to be dementia friendly from top to bottom. This helps residents to feel safe, move around the home more easily, and have opportunities for stimulation and enjoyment.
Recreating familiar settings
We have our own Betty’s Café and Albert’s Bar, plus wallpapers and painted fences to simulate outdoor scenes, gardens, beaches, and libraries.

Places to welcome and entertain children
All of the lounges have a children’s play corner, and there’s a children’s play area outside. This makes it a pleasure for grandchildren to visit, and for the residents to enjoy watching them play.

A dedicated activities room
Creativity is stimulating – our own activities room means residents can enjoy getting stuck into arts and crafts in the perfect environment.

There’s no typical day at Thatcham Court, but we arrange plenty to do, both here at the home as well as out and about.
Encouraging residents’ creativity
We help our residents get involved with gardening, knitting, pottery, art, and cooking. All of this helps residents to make the home that bit more special.

A variety of outings for all interests
We’ve held trips to the zoo, farms, steam trains, army flying museum, and football matches. Residents always get to choose where we go.

Making dreams come true
We think it’s #NeverTooLate so wherever we can, we help residents to achieve something from their ‘bucket list’.

"The service was exceptionally well-managed. There was a very positive workplace culture, which ensured the care provided was to excellent standards. We observed people's support was very caring. Relatives, commissioners and professionals described the service as very caring and staff as kind. Without exception, people were routinely treated with dignity and respect."
"All the staff at Thatcham Court have taken great care of my sister. They are kindly and helpful to her. They also have time for visitors. Nothing is too much trouble."

"The staff absolutely care about the residents in their care. I have recommended Thatcham Court Care Home and will continue to do so."
Son of resident, 14 October 2021, carehome.co.uk
"I'm always greeted by helpful efficient friendly staff and I find the room is kept in a clean pleasant and tidy condition. Their carers are always happy to answer any question and obliging any requests. They show great compassion and reassurance in what can be a very challenging situation. The care history is well written up and available to read with the staff happy to report feedback regularly. I am happy my husband is being well cared for in a good situation."
