Kerrie, Leeds Customer Care Team, who are we?
Bright and cheerful: a lovely place to invite friends and family
The Arkley has a huge atrium with a glass roof, letting light pour into the social areas below. Among all the indoor palms, it feels like the perfect place to sit and enjoy tea and cake with a visitor.
Great places to socialise, enjoy an activity or have quiet time
Residents can get their hair done in our salon, chat with friends in the tea-room and even get creative in our activity room before sitting down to a tasty lunch in one of our dining rooms.
Places to make new friends and welcome old ones
We have a number of lounges and sociable seating areas for residents to spend time catching up with friends and family.
Grab a coffee and cake
Our vintage style café has an excellent selection of coffee and cake making it the ideal place to chat with friends and family.
Pretty bedrooms and WC facilities
All our bedrooms are spacious, nicely furnished, comfortable, and residents can have meals there if wanted. It’s the ideal place for a bit of ‘me’ time with a book or knitting.
There’s no typical day at The Arkley, but we arrange plenty to do, both here at the home as well as out and about.
Lovely garden screened by mature trees
Our garden has a patio with seating. Residents can enjoy the sunshine or sit in the shade under a parasol while enjoying the flowers and birds.
Getting involved with daily tasks
Our residents love taking care of our home, whether that’s looking after the plants from their wheelchair or helping us with a bit of paperwork in the office. These are great for using skills and enjoying a sense of achievement.
Visiting animals always raise a smile
We get visits from all sorts of animals – from fluffy bunnies and waggy dogs to reptiles and creepy crawlies. They’ll even visit the residents who are spending time in the comfort of their own rooms.
“People received personalised care and support which met their needs, reflected their preferences. People benefited from a variety of activities, events and trips out that were available to reduce social isolation, give meaning and purpose and enhance their wellbeing.”
"The Arkley is just the most lovely place, my aunt is so much happier here. Everyone is so friendly, and the atmosphere is light and bright. The home manager is fabulous. We are thrilled."

"My friend has been at The Arkley for a little over 2 years now. I visit each week and each time see how well cared for my friend is. Staff are friendly, the manager is approachable and always helpful. Thank you."
Friend of Resident, 25 April 2024, carehome.co.uk
"She loved it and was so glad that she had finally made the decision to go. She involved herself in the activities every day and made friends with other residents. We wish that she could have been in the home for longer but at least while she was there she was living her best life."
Daughter of Resident, 17 April 2024, carehome.co.uk
