Welcome to The Donnington Care Home in Newbury
Built in Victorian times, The Donnington has been carefully extended and converted into a fully modernised care home equipped to meet all our residents' needs. We are surrounded by glorious landscaped grounds with raised flowerbeds and a tranquil sensory garden – great for entertaining visitors.
Our care assistants and registered nurses tailor the care they provide to each person, taking time to understand their preferences and needs. Our focus is on dignity, respect and quality of life. We aim to provide support around the clock while at the same time allowing our residents as much independence as possible.
Care for those recovering from surgery or illness, through a combination of rest appropriate exercise and a balanced diet.

We provide respectful and meaningful care for residents and support for their relatives and loved ones. We make sure that their physical, psychological, social and spiritual needs are considered and met.
Expert personal care 24-hours a day in comfortable, homely accommodation with daily activities to stimulate body and mind.
Provides accommodation, meals and personal care for those who find it increasingly difficult to cope at home without assistance.
Short stays offering round the clock care in a safe, comfortable environment. Perfect for carers who are ill, on holiday or just need a break.
You can make an appointment by calling us and booking in a visit with our home manager. We have an open door policy, so you’re welcome to pop in to the home at any time. However, we advise you avoid visiting at main meal times as these can be very busy.
Depending on its size, new residents are welcome to bring furniture to their new room. Many of our residents bring a favourite armchair or pictures and other small belongings to personalise their room.
This depends on availability of rooms in the home, understanding the cost of care and the person moving in receiving a care assessment.
