Mr Gareth Stables (he/him)

Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon

Gareth specialises in; keyhole or knee arthroscopy surgery, ligament reconstruction surgery, knee osteotomy and knee replacement surgery. He has over 15 years of experience in the field having qualified with a commendation in 1998 from the University of Liverpool Medical School.

Gareth undertook his specialist training in orthopaedic surgery in Cheshire and Merseyside. It was in 2010 that he became a Fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh. Working at Wrightington Hospital he completed his specialist training in hip and knee surgery.

An accomplished surgeon, Gareth has published work in peer-reviewed journals and written orthopaedic book chapters. He has presented his research at both national and international meetings.

He is actively involved in high-quality research and is a Principal Investigator for a number of National and International multicentre clinical trials, leading to improvements in patient experience and outcomes.

In his spare time, Gareth likes to swim, play tennis and follows Everton F.C.
