Treatment for moles and skin lesions
Spotting changes to your skin can be concerning. And, it’s natural to want answers quickly
So, as a Bupa health insurance customer, you can speak with us about your symptoms whenever you need to - you won’t need to get a GP referral first*.
We have different treatment options available, and our expert nurse practitioners can suggest the best one for you.
Not insured? You can still get support with a pay-as-you-go GP appointment.
Different ways we can help you
Speak with an advanced nurse practitioner about your symptoms
Don't hesitate to book an appointment if you’ve noticed a change to your skin or have a mole that's worrying you. We can talk through any worries you have, discuss treatment options, and explain any next steps.
Digital appointments are available between 6am and 10pm on weekdays or 8am and 10pm on weekends and bank holidays.
Use the My Bupa app to book an appointment
In the app, select 'Treatment and care' to start the booking journey. Tell us about your symptoms or anything that is worrying you. Then, pick a date and time that's best for you.
All digital appointments with advanced nurse practitioners are included in your cover. If you need more specialist treatment, you may need to make a claim - but we’ll guide you through it all if we get to that point.
Talk to our member advisers about your cover
You don't have to figure this out alone. Our trained advisers can explain what your cover includes, and walk you through any next steps.
Lines are open Monday to Friday 8am to 8pm and Saturday 8am to 4pm. We may record or monitor our phone calls.

Submit a treatment request if you've got a GP referral
If you’ve already seen a GP, that's absolutely fine - we'll help you take it from here. Just use the My Bupa app to submit your treatment request when you're ready.
Once in the app, choose 'Pre-authorisations' and start a new request for treatment. You'll need to fill in some details from your referral, such as, who has referred you for treatment and what treatment they would like you to have.
As soon as we get your request, we'll review it and explain the next steps. You might be asked to complete some forms before starting any treatment.
As long as you're covered for the treatment, you will get a ‘pre-authorisation' code. Take this to your appointment so your specialist knows the treatment has been approved.
You can also submit a request by logging into your account on our website or calling us on 0345 609 0111.
