Useful information about your cover
We want to make sure that your policy or trust guide is always up-to-date with current medical developments. This page gives you information about your scheme which may change from time to time, and useful links to help you understand your cover.
Specialist drugs
New treatments become available all the time and we regularly review them so you can access the latest medical advances. This is where we publish the most up-to-date list of specialist drugs (PDF, 1.0MB).
Advanced therapies
Advanced Therapies are defined by the European Medicines Agency and within the UK as Advanced Therapy Medicinal Products (ATMPs).
There are three lists available, depending on your scheme:
Please check your certificate or guide to find out whether your scheme covers List A, List B or List C.
If your certificate doesn't mention an Advanced Therapies list, your scheme covers List A.

Understanding your cover
Our booklet Important points about your cover (PDF, 0.7MB) explains how your scheme works. It includes what is and isn’t covered, how we underwrite our schemes and explains what cover is available for chronic conditions. It also explains that chronic conditions aren't usually covered once diagnosed.
When we need more information from your doctor
Sometimes, we need some information about your medical history from your doctor to make sure your scheme covers the consultation(s), test(s) or treatment you may need.
When this happens,
- Your scheme covers £15 towards any fees a GP charges you for a medical report about a specific condition, as long as you didn't have the condition before you took out your scheme. This doesn't apply if you have moratorium underwriting.
- Your scheme covers £31 towards any fees a GP charges you for a report about your medical history in the last seven years, or a copy of your medical notes.
Before we can ask your GP for a medical report, we’ll need your permission. Find out more about medical reports.
