You don’t have to visit one of our health centres to get a look at your current health. With our remote health assessments, you can complete a lot of the same tests as our in-centre options from the comfort of your own home.
We’ll send you everything you need to carry out the tests, including a blood sample collection kit you’ll need to send back to us. Once we’ve analysed the data, one of our health advisers or GPs will take you through what everything means and chat through any concerns you might have.

What's included in your assessment?
Before your assessment
We’ll send you two questionnaires before your appointment. The first lets us know a little more about you and your health. The second will come 48 hours before your call, and will give us an idea of how your mental health is.
We’ll also send you a home testing kit so you can take a blood sample. We need you to do this within 48 hours of getting it, so we have enough time to process the results.
What we check on the day
Our health adviser will take you through these health checks. For more information, we have detailed explanations of why we use them.
Height, weight and waist measurements
We’ll also check your BMI and body fat percentage to see if you’re under or overweight.
Basal metabolic rate
This tells us how your body breaks down the food you eat.
Estimated energy requirements
The average dietary intake to maintain a healthy lifestyle.
Mental health review
We’ll discuss your mental wellbeing with you and see how you’re dealing with any stresses or anxieties.
Sleep review
We’ll ask you how you’ve been sleeping recently and look into any issues that may be causing poor resting patterns.
Mobility and flexibility
We’ll check for some pain or stiffness with some easy stretching exercises.
Heart Qrisk
We’ll look into your heart health and your risk of cardiovascular disease.
Blood pressure
We’ll check both arms to see if your blood pressure is ok.
Qdiabetes
We’ll look at your risk of Type 2 Diabetes, taking your current health into account.
Diabetes HbA1c
See the amount of glucose in your blood, or how well your diabetes is being managed.
Comprehensive cholesterol profile
Our blood tests will see if you have high cholesterol.

Time with a GP (Be.Healthy at Home Plus only)
You will also get up to 30 minutes with a GP to discuss any physical or mental health concerns you may have. If necessary, we’ll talk through any next steps you need to take.
Goal-setting and lifestyle changes
We'll help you set goals and areas to focus on in your health and wellbeing journey. We use your assessment results and the time with your health adviser to make sure they're tailored to you.
After your assessment
We’ll send you your results and keep supporting your health for a year.
Access to your results
We’ll send you a detailed report of your results that you can see anytime you need to in My Bupa.
Ongoing support
We can’t always give you a diagnosis, but if you’re recommended treatment, we’ll help refer you through your GP or insurance. You’ll also get access to Bupa Be.Me and two coaching calls to help you stick to your lifestyle goals.
Access to Anytime HealthLine
If you need advice, Anytime HealthLine puts you through to nurses ready to help. And when we say anytime, we mean it. They’re around for support 24 hours a day.
Online mental health programmes
Our partners SilverCloud offer online courses to support any issues you face, such as anxiety or sleeping problems.

On the My Bupa app, you’ll get access to:

How do our remote health assessments work?
We’ll send everything you need to easily complete a health check from the comfort and safety of your own home.
1. Booking
Book your home health check online or over the phone. You'll need to book 17 days ahead of your video call.
2. Your kit
You'll receive your home testing kit plus instructions on how to download the Bupa Be.Me app.
3. Blood sample
Within 48 hours of getting your blood collection device, you'll take a sample and post it back to us.
4. Questionnaire
You'll get an email asking you to complete the physical health risks questionnaire, either online or in the app.
5. Mental health
Two days before your video call, we'll ask you to fill in a mental health questionnaire, either online or in the app.
6. Video calls
You'll go through your blood results, do your other checks together, choose a lifestyle goal, and get your action plan.
7. Coaching calls
2 weeks and 12 weeks after your call, you'll have coaching phone calls to help keep you on track with your goals.
8. A year’s support
You'll get helpful emails from us and access to online mental health support, and an all-day nurse helpline.

A closer look at any specific concerns
Depending on your sex, age or family history, you may be more at risk of certain conditions. Particularly important for those over 40, these checks can help put any worries to rest.
