A local Berkshire care home, Bupa Thatcham Court on Chapel Street, have set up their own toddler group session in a bid to mix the generations.

The group, who have dubbed themselves ‘The Time Travellers’, visit the home every fortnight where they take part in a range of activities, including musicals, sing-a-longs, and painting.

Previously, residents had delighted when staff at the home brought their children with them to work. Because of the glowing reception the children received, staff at Thatcham Court decided to form their own toddler group and link it up with fun-filled activities for residents.

The group is open to parents and children in the local community aged from two weeks to four years.

General Manager, Tammy New, said: “These sessions are a wonderful opportunity to bring the generations together. Being around little ones brings so much joy to everyone at the home, and we are always looking to do more activities like this.”

Bupa Thatcham Court is purpose-built and welcomes anyone in need of nursing or residential care, including those living with dementia. Residents are offered a full programme of regular and seasonal activities, as well as 24-hour access to highly trained medical and care staff.
