Once your dermatologist has examined your skin, they should be able to recommend the best course of treatment for your rosacea. These may vary depending on the severity and location of your condition.
The most common rosacea treatments include:
Creams and lotions
There are a number of creams or lotions your dermatologist may prescribe. These include topical gels containing azalaic acid, topical antibiotics and democidal creams which treat the papules and pustules of rosacea.
If your rosacea is severe, your dermatologist may prescribe an antibiotic such as tetracycline, which can help clear up the rash.
If very severe your dermatologist may recommend a strong drug used to treat the acne.
If you have lots of redness in the skin due to dilated blood vessels your dermatologist may recommend referring you for some laser treatment.
