Skin specialist referral
If you’ve got a skin complaint that’s causing you irritation or concern, you’ll want to get it diagnosed as quickly as possible. That’s why we provide fast and convenient access to private GP appointments subject to availability.
You’ll have time with a doctor without being rushed so you can properly discuss your skin condition. They’ll have a look and be able to recommend a tailored treatment plan. In some instances, they may also refer you to a specialist dermatologist if necessary.
If you have any questions, call us on 0345 619 2961^
Lines are open 8am to 8pm Monday to Friday, Saturday and Sunday 9am to 5pm.
Referring you to a dermatologist
If you have a skin worry, in many cases you’ll be able to get advice or treatment by booking an appointment with one of our GPs. If a GP can’t help with your skin condition, we can refer you to a private dermatologist for a face-to-face consultation – this may be included with your private medical insurance cover, if you already have a policy with us.
A dermatologist is a skin specialist doctor qualified in the treatment and management of skin conditions such as acne and eczema, as well as nail and hair complaints. During a usual consultation, your skin will be examined and, if needed, you’ll have some tests to help with your diagnosis.

What different skin conditions can you diagnose?
- Mole checks
- Rashes
- Eczema
- Acne
- Psoriasis
- Urticaria/allergies
- Hair loss
- Hair and nail problems
- Lumps and bumps
- Skin infections
- Cold sores
