Cancer screening
For those without current symptoms to understand their cancer risk with a personalised screening, guided by a doctor
Why get a cancer screening?
Our Cancer screening service is designed for people who feel well but want to better understand their risk of developing cancer. By assessing your health, lifestyle and family history, we can help identify whether you're more likely to develop certain types of cancer.
Depending on what’s medically relevant to you, the screening may focus on early signs of cancers such as breast, cervical, prostate and testicular.
This is a pay as you go service, meaning you don’t need to be a Bupa customer to book a screening.

How our cancer screening works
Book online
You can book your Cancer screening online for a date and time that works for you, at your local Bupa Health Centre.
Fill in your questionnaire
We’ll send you a questionnaire to complete. This is to understand your medical history and decide what tests will be most relevant.
Get screened
Your 30 minute screening includes tests tailored to you, based on your age and clinical guidance, plus time to talk through any concerns with a doctor.
Get your results
Depending on your symptoms, examination or test results, we can organise a private referral. Or write to your NHS GP (with your consent) advising an NHS referral.
Is a cancer screening for me?
Our cancer screenings are for those without symptoms who are worried they may be at risk. If you’ve noticed anything unusual, see your GP or book a private GP appointment instead.
You should book a cancer screening if you:
- Are over the age of 18
- Have no current symptoms, but would like peace of mind
- Have a family history of cancer
- Haven't had recent screening
- You want regular check-ups to stay healthy
Book a GP appointment instead if you have:
- A new lump in any area of your body
- Unusual bleeding (pee, vomit, poo or vaginal)
- Unexplained weight loss
- Persistent fatigue or night sweats
- Change in poo (bowel) habits
