Yes. This is a remote consultation, so if you have symptoms of the coronavirus the appointment can still be carried out. Currently we’re not providing testing for coronavirus and will not be able to offer a face-to-face appointment. If necessary, the GP can discuss the next best steps for you if you need additional care.

Please try to ensure you answer the telephone promptly. Should you miss the call, the doctor will make a further attempt to contact you. If you fail to answer again, we will not be able to carry out the appointment and it may be necessary to reschedule your appointment at an additional cost. A cancellation charge will be equal to the full cost of your appointment and will also be made to any appointments which are cancelled or rescheduled with less than 24 hours notice.

Yes. The video call can either be accessed through an app or via your web browser, you will be sent a link to both options before your call.

If for any reason you’re disconnected during the call, the doctor will attempt to call you back. They will attempt a maximum of 3 times. If this is not possible or they cannot reach you a member of our bookings team will contact you to rearrange the call. There may be an additional charge for any further appointments.

If the GP decides that you need a prescription they will issue a digital prescription though our partner pharmacy. They will email you a link so you can arrange delivery or collect the prescription from a pharmacy of your choice. Any prescription issued will be a private prescription. This will incur a variable charge (as opposed to NHS flat fee), which will be the cost of the drug dispensed as well as a dispensing fee applied by the pharmacist. This will vary by drug and may vary by pharmacy. Bupa does not hold information about the costs of each drug.

If the GP deems it medically necessary, you may be advised to attend for a face to face appointment. If appropriate this can be provided at one of our Bupa Centres. There will be an additional charge for the face to face appointment.

Yes, we can issue a COVID-19 recovery certificate.

A COVID-19 recovery certificate confirms that you have recently had and recovered from COVID-19. This means you're likely to be protected from another infection soon after because of your antibodies and natural immunity (though it’s still important to follow precautions).

Some travel destinations accept a recovery certificate as an alternative to a negative PCR test. This is because a PCR test may remain positive for up to 90 days after COVID-19 infection. The certificate doesn’t guarantee entry to any travel destination. It is your responsibility to check entry requirements and know the accepted duration of the certificate of recovery.

You’ll need to show the doctor a copy or photo of the results of a PCR test. The PCR test has to be from an accredited UKHSA laboratory. You also need to have been symptom-free from active COVID-19 infection, including fever and respiratory problems, for at least 72 hours. Ten days must have gone by since the date of your positive test but no more than 90 days.

Please call the bookings team on 0330 057 6744 and they'll be able to help you. We can't take online bookings at present.

We are unable to offer vaccinations in our health centres.

We cannot deal with any medical emergencies in centre or remotely, please dial 999 or 111 for assistance.

We can offer blood tests to 16 and 17 year olds if the doctor feels these are necessary. The person having the blood tests will need to give their consent.

The GP could refer you on to another service privately (at an additional cost). They can't refer into NHS secondary care, but they can contact your NHS GP (with your permission) about their recommendations. Secondary care means services from specialists who you don't usually see at first contact. For example if you need an echocardiogram (a type of heart scan)
